The Story

Young Life is a Christian ministry that reaches out to middle school, high school and college-aged kids in all 50 of the United States as well as more than 90 countries around the world. They believe that kids' lives are dramatically impacted when caring adults come alongside them, and they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose.

This was part of the overall strategy to reconfigure their existing backend infrastructure and utilize Salesforce Communities. A combination of custom and out of the box features would better align their already robust marketing and social media campaigns with their future goals for growth. The Ask

Young Life wanted to increase membership and community engagement by offering more robust profile and communication features, improved privacy settings, volunteer/participant/donation history, interests, and more.

My Role and Process

As Design lead, I assembled a few pages to show what a community member might see if they had indicated their preferences, participated in volunteer activities or attended a camp, and earned badges.

The Result

This served its intended purpose as a conversation starter to secure funding for the next phase of updates.
